Astronaut Traffic Whitepaper

Check out this short whitepaper I put together with some interesting quick data points gained from receiving this traffic. You can also see copies of all the radiograms, Winlink messages, and emails I received and mailed to NASA.

Thanks for all your congratulatory messages to astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley!

Did you know astronaut Bob Behnken is a ham? He (KE5GGX) and Doug Hurley made history when they blasted off from Kennedy Space Center on Saturday, May 30 2020. It’s the first time astronauts have launched from American soil since the final Space Shuttle flight in 2011.

In June 2020 I asked amateur radio stations to send their congratulations and well wishes to astronauts Behnken and Hurley, and on July 1 I mailed your messages to NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. While I have not heard back from NASA as of yet, I am very thankful to all the amateur radio operators that participated – this was a very fun and rewarding project.
